Adam and Dave Thanks for your input. You are both spot on. Theres a little filter at the back near the pump which looks like it may be 'original'.. Blocked almost completely. $4.00 at the auto spares shop and the problem is fixed. Unfortunately it looks like the type that can't be cleaned I just don't want to go and spend heaps of $$ on trying to eliminate the problem  which i think is a simple one.. How much pressure should there be ? Like should the fuel spray everywhere if u remove a hose and turn on the Ign?
