Andrew,

Clearance for L24E are:
Hot
In 0.25 mm (0.010")
Ex 0.30 mm (0.012")

Cold
In 0.20 mm (0.008")
Ex 0.25 mm (0.010")

Method.
Rotate engine until #1 inlet lobe is point straight up. Undo retaining nut
and adjusting nut (best done with 2 spanners 14mm & 17mm) and set clearance
under the bottom of the lobe and the rocker. Hold the adjusting nut and
tighten locking nut (takes a bit practice to get it right) then re-check
clearance and re-adjust if necessary, a little loose +.001" is OK but never
leave a rocker clearance under spec. Rotate engine until #5 inlet is
pointing up and adjust as per above. Do the remaining inlets in order i.e.
3,6,2,4. Exhausts are the done the same way; i.e. rotate engine till #1
exhaust cam lobe is pointing up, adjust the rocker etc then do 5,3,6,2,4.

regards
Terry

Subject: L24E stuff

Hey everyone,

I need to reset the tappets in my L24E and can't get hold of a workshop
manual for the car. Can anyone help me with info on how to set them and
what they need to be set to??

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Cheers,
Andrew.
