Title: RE: help required - l20b ignition probs

I have heard that too.  I think heat shields are the better way to go as it stops the heat getting to the important bits but lets it escape from the extractors.  It might be better to internally coat the extractors with HPC.  To stop much of the heat ever getting to the metal.

The heat retention also changes the steel characteristics and has made some pipes go brittle very quickly

After fitting thermo wrap I could just about hold the extractors after normal driving. Where as before I couldn't open the bonnet fro 20 mins.

no worries I think Adam said it b4 but keep an eye on the temp that the
module gets as this does degrade them I have built a heat shield
specifically for the module to guard against my extractors but also need to
put some tape on them to try and keep the temps down specially now in the
    hot weather
    glad it's fixed
