Well after many weeks of hearing the timing chain rattling I finally got the
timing cover to check (l20B) out what was going on on inspection nothing
came to mind until we took the tensioner out it was blocked to the point
that when pulling the tensioner out of its body there was a vacuum so with
new oil it must have had just enough oil pressure to make itself useful but
as it got nearer a oil change it was worse anyway fired her up again with
new tensioner guides etc and she's great. One prob was as the chain was
slack it has worn the dow that lubricates the chain ( I think thats what it
does) is just about the crankshaft sprocket, I dont think it will hurt it
didn't look worn through to the oil passage just. so am a fairly happy boy
again : ))
