It does get to the point though, by the time you have taken out the slack in the straight ahead position it is binding on left or right turns. I had this problem, which is why I changed boxes.

Loosen off the nut turn the screw a wee bit and tigten the nut.
This can be done with no effort,its on the top of your steering box,Something is wrong if it takes you longer than 3 mins to fix.
Then test drive and reajust if needed.I think it pays to jack the front off the ground so you can turn the wheels easy for the ajusting.
