Now that's commitment!

I have remembered one other Nissan I could tolerate in the garage - Its the
street legal version of the R390 GT1, of which 4 placed in the top ten at
LeMans in 1998.

For those who dont know, its a 2 seater sporty.

Rear engined VRH35LTT (3.5 litre V8 with twin turbos) pumping out 410KW @
6800rpm and torque is 638Nm @4400. Top speed of the street version is
limited to 270 (320 for the LeMans cars) and standing quarter is 11.9 secs.
It does 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 secs.

It has a six speed sequential transaxle and multiplate clutch. To shift up,
pull backward on the gear lever, to shift down push forward. A separate gear
lever is used to select reverse.
Wheels are 18*8' f and 19* 10.5 r. Brakes are 355mm vented f and r with 6
piston calipers.

Body and chassis are largely carbon fibre and it weighs 1,027kg. Length is
4,533mm, width 2,000mm, height,140mm. Its a pretty big sports car. It has
300ZX head lights and that's about its only resemblance to anything Nissan
we are likely to be able to buy.

Price new? "Over $1m" (six zeros). Did you think a GTR was the ultimate
expensive Nissan?.
