Title: RE: Everyones Favourite Nissan/Datsuns ?

If you bring it in as a personal import you do not need to comply it you just get a plate that says personal import to put on your car.  This means you don't have to do all the costly stuff like side intrusion bars and the like.

I think even then you have to get the vehicle complied.

    Malcolm,
We can import the vehicle, but not register for road use unless it receives
local compliance from authorised companies. An exception at the moment is
for vehicles 15 years or older. Compliance of newer vehicles is only
available for models never sold locally.
    Cheers,
    Feral Errol
