hi list. I am planning on putting a new engine in my datto because the current l20b is smoking like crap with a recoed ported w53 head. The rings must be stuffed. A guy at a local dyno shop has built a bottom end: Acid bathed block with new welsh plugs etc., crank has been ground and linished on the main bearings 10 thou, honed standard bores and standard pistons, new rings and bearings (oversised main bearings), dynamically balanced (no timing gear). He is asking for $600, does anyone know if it's worth it? Or even better does anyone have a complete engine for sale? Thomas.
