Title: Exhaust & Parts
Ross,

The size of the exhaust you choose depends on what you do with the car. If it's a street car anything from 1.75 - 2.25" with low loss mufflers etc will generally work well with that engine but larger can actually reduce performance especially under 5000 rpm or so. If it's a competition car of some sort then it will spend the majority of it's time over 5000 rpm and a larger exhaust will/could be of some benefit on a NA engine. If the headers you've scored are H&M etc or at least a 4-2-1 design they will give you a very good return for your $$.

regards
Terry

Subject: Exhaust & Parts

Hi Guys

Was at the wreckers yesterday and scored a set of extractors and a 2inch exhaust for my stanza for $80.

What are people running on their mild-hot L20s on the street. I was planning to get a 2.5 inch system soon but found this bargain yesterday. The engine runs the twin 38mm SUs but is as yet pretty standard, When i get time i will port a head and put it on with a cam.

Anyway I was just worried that 2 inched would be a bit small in the end. Any ideas???

By the way, The wrecker was "pick, pay 'n' go" in Ringwood (VIC) and the SSS Stanza still had the dogleg 5 speed ($200) and a complete set of twin 38mm SUs with manifold ($???).
