No worries. What state are you in? I was curious about the legalities here in the ACT so I inquired. I just got an email back from the RTA and they say it's not illegal to park on a "nature strip" unless you are blocking someone's driveway and they have to complain, or it contravenes other bylaws (special signs etc). There are some of these special signs around Braddon and Turner so the workers can't park on nature strips to avoid paying for parking but you can make arrangements with the local residents.
