hi, its not silicone, and never use it,
because most silicones contain an acetic acid, which will eat thru
the paint and pull it away from the metal causing rust.
use a automotive bonding
adhesive/sealer such as 3M seam sealer ( not "drip check")
or bonding urethane.
urethane is chemically
different to silastic.
