hi,  its not silicone, and never use it, because  most silicones contain an acetic  acid, which will eat thru the paint and pull it away from the metal causing rust.
 
 
  use a  automotive bonding adhesive/sealer such as  3M seam sealer ( not  "drip check") or   bonding urethane.
urethane    is chemically different  to silastic.

Does anyone know what kind of silicone (i guess) is used to join the bonnet shell to the bonnet skin.
 
The guy at auto 1 i spoke with had no idea.
 
 
Also is it possible to get a 1600 engineered in sydney with 16 inch wheels or is 15's legally as big as an engineer will let you go?
 
will 16x7 fit on the front with 240k struts?
and will 16x8 fit on the rear without more than lipping the gaurds?
