Terry,
ATE is a type of caliper. The 2 series volvos use both ATE and girling
type 4 spots which look similar but use different pads.Ive used ATE 4 spots
off a 144 volvo with vented disks.

[Terry

on the yellow carThe
Holden/Volvo set up was supplied on the yellow car.Interesting
that u say 144 volvo as I have been scouring the DBA Catalogue looking
for something to fit. (Mine are so warped u wouldn't believe.) The closest
thing I can find is a 740 series Volvo DBA685 FYI the original disc is
A =257. B = 59, C&D =21, E = 68According
to the book no 144's had vented discs....Will DBA supply blanks? or could
i specify datto stud holes??
[Terry
Rudd] No 144's had vented discs? - mine were vented, the DBA catalog must
be wrong or there's another disc on some 144's. It says ATE brakes, i wonder
if that's a brand? DBA will supply blank discs, i've never tried to get
any drilled with another bolt pattern but most brake places can do that.
Anyone with a good drill press can do it too.Your
discs are similar to:DBA241
except A 256 and B 49mmDBA617
except B 49mmI've
searched the catalogue for all of the 68mm centre hole discs and didn't
come up with much, chances are it's off something imported.regardsTerry And
of course credit for all the clever stuff goes to Paul Williamson here
on the gold coast..cheersMick -----

Subject: RE: Brakes for a 1600
Mick,Interesting
setup. I looked up specs on your combination as I'm not familiar with Mazda
stuff. Clever boy whoever pick that disc, it's perfect except for 5 holes
which are only nuisance value to fix (buy blanks). The
callipers certainly look like Pathfinder and I would guess off the V6 D21
for no special reason other than the Diesel brakes would not fit over the
discs with new pads on.On
the rear, Volvo 144 discs with HQ Holden callipers were very common on
1600 rally cars in the 80's, I had that on one of my cars. What
happened to the brakes off the blue car?regardsTerry
HiFor
some time people have been asking me about my 4spot brakes and i been promising
to post some pics. Well i finally worked out how to scan a pic that doesn't
end up being a 1.5MB file ie too big for the webpage, and now there are
some pics to look at.www.datsun1600.freeservers.com Go
to Photos 3 page I'd
be interested in your reactions to some of my comments on the setupcheersMick
