Sounds like a mixture problem. I don't know much about SU's but it sounds like they are too rich from 2500 -> 5000. Have you had them tuned?

i have a worked L20b with twin su's , a fairly big cam and pacemaker
extractors and a 2 inch exhast with a hot dog a one muffler.
The problem is when i accelerate between about 2 and a half grand to about 5
it splutters and coughs but before 2 and a half and over 5 in runs unreal.
any help would be great as i am sick of this problem.
Also what is the redline set at on a L20b.
