Andrew,
We were originally only after the smaller filler part for NSW engineering but
some ppl had reported that the old 1600 rubber bits have a problem with Optimax
etc which is something i've not experienced with my '70 with all rubber filler
but i've got a metal one in a box just in case. On the unleaded conversion we
used the R31 filler and it's rubber bit which was much the same as the later
model 1600.
