Ryan,
Use the L20B head and have the chambers welded up to make a peanut chamber
head, shape the chambers using a template from your L16 head and have the
head surfaced. This gives you the best ports and the best chamber shape.
Otherwise use the L18 head.

Cheers
Feral Errol

Subject: L20 block / head combination.

hey list,
i got a l20 in my car atm. and also have a spare L16 with a rebuilt head. im
trying to make a pretty tuff webered L series motor.
what im thinking it L20 bottom end with the L16 head. is this a good
combination or compression be too high? the head will be ported obviously
but would it a better idea to use the L18 head?
im thinking the L16 basically cos i got it spare. whilst the head is off is
there any other mods i can do to get some more power?
i will be going for a lumpy cam, better clutch too.

any ideas?
thanks,
Ryan
