Hi Ben, I have aspirations of doing this once I get mine on the road :)
Errol told me that the CA18 bellhousing does bolt to L boxes, so if worst came to worse, you would just have to get one of those. I have a CA16 (externally same as CA18 apparently) and a CA20 bellhousing in the driveway. >From what I remember, most or all of the CA20 bellhousing holes bolt to the block, but the CA16 starter doesnt fit, but it looks like an L series starter would except the solenoid fouls the block. What side is the starter on a CA18 with standard gearbox?? If a suitable starter can be found though, the combination looks promising... Hope it helps Andrew > if i go get myself a gearbox from a 6cyl L motor to put behind my > current l20b, later on down the track, when i do a CA18 swap, will > i just be able to get a stuffed 5 speed CA20 box (s3 bluey) and > swap the bellhousings over?? would a 6cyl L box would be strong > enuff for a mild ca18det if this can be done?? > --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
