Hi guys,
Just a quick report to let all those who are
interested know how we went at Eastern Creek on the Weekend.
Put simply - Bad Weekend!
Qualifying - I ran the same set up as last year, only problem was the track
was not as hot, so the tyre pressures were too low! Plus we got baulked by other
drivers. The end result was 16th position on the grid (out of
25).
Race 1 - Bad start, but worked my
way up to 13th position by the end of lap three, then on lap four something in
the gearbox broke, and I could not select 5th gear (pretty important at Eastern
Creek) and lost a few places before the end of the race. The end result was 16th
position and we withdrew from the remaining races.
The good thing was the new engine was going really
well, revving up to (and sometimes beyond) 7,000rpm. Also the suspension in the
race was working fantastic.
Lots of work to be done before the next round at
Wakefield Park in 6 weeks. The car is already in pieces again (I'm sure it is in
pieces more often than it is together) and parts are being modified all over
Sydney. The joys of Motor Racing!
