They are still only a 2 pinion diff. The safari rally cars had the H190 with a 4 pinion LSD centre in an alloy housing,with oil cooler and 4 spot brakes! That would be tough as brass whatsits..
I was a convert when I compared the axle size of my stock axle to the H190 version. I give it heaps because I know it won't let me down. All this talk of diffs makes me wonder if I did the right thing on the wwekend.
I blew the diff in my SSS Stanza, backing out of my mates driveway?????? It just went pop, then bang, crunch, crunch, bang, squeal, crunch... well you get the idea. Turns out I shattered the spider gears. As it has the borg warner diff I cant just remove the centre so i got a whole new housing from pick'a'part and put that in yesterday arvo. Much quieter adn smoother than the old on which was getting pretty noisy.
My new wrecker Gabriel shockers are in too and they work MUCH better than the 20 year old factory KYB, funnily enough.
Anyway, now i wonder if these H190s would have been a better bet than the standard one. Are they tougher??
