Hello Datsun fans,
I would just like to say that the ACTDAT Cruise held last Sunday went very well despite a few hiccups involving following the leader and traffic lights :) We had in attendance 7 1600s, 2 200Bs, 2 Zeds, a 1000, a 180b, a 120Y and a WRX and R33 Skyline as spectators. Everyone talked, exchanged ideas and looked at each other's cars for the hour proceeding the cruise. We then headed off down towards Parliament House via Commonwealth Bridge but unfortunately only 2 cars were able to make it through the traffic light behind me. The rest of the pack, uncertain as to where we went headed down the Parkway while us 3 waited just past the bridge but didn't see anyone coming. A couple of phone calls later (god bless the man who invented mobile phones!) we all regrouped outside the Chinese Embassy. We then proceeded down the twisty Alexandria Drive running along Lake Burley Griffin, over Scrivener Dam, up Coppins Crossing Road and eventually ending up at the boat ramp in the park next to Lake Ginninderra just to give a few highlights. Although losing a few more enroute we did get a new 1600 at the destination. I think I will take heed to Bruce's suggestion of maps for everybody next time! I think all the cars there were modified in some way, including an FJ20 180b and a Z18 1600 but I think the award goes to Russell with his 1.6L Supercharged Toyota Sprinter powered 120Y sedan! Developing some 200hp at the flywheel! All in all a good day for all, even if some did lose their way. I think next on the agenda (as suggested by Bruce) will be to meet up with the Sydney Datsun Club at Wakefield Park on the June long weekend for no doubt some fast laps around the track and to see some interstate Datsuns! Yours in Datsuns, James Cox ACTDAT President PS Some pics of the cruise will be posted on the net later, will give the details when they are up. _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
