Hi All,
I have a 1600 Improved Production Race Car with an FJ20 Turbo under the bonnet
The FJ20 Gearbox has a leak - oil is coming out of the extension housing, where the gearstick bottom enters the gearbox (i.e. where the gearstick ball socket enters into the top of the selector shaft). This leak only occurs once the gearbox is warm (i.e. after 10 laps or so), but is fairly large once it is leaking.
Two Questions –
1 - Has anyone had a similar problem, and if so what was the fix?
2 - Does anyone have a manual for this gearbox, or anyone know which workshop manual will have the appropriate exploded diagrams and dismantle instructions? I have been told it would be an R30 Skyline Manual, but have not been able to find one to purchase. If anyone has a copy they can scan or fax to me, I would be very grateful.
I am in Melbourne, so if you have a copy of the entire manual locally, including the FJ20 Engine Section, I’d love to get it copied.
