In response to those who were asking about paint drying times last week, this is what i got back from my mate the spray painter
Q:
Is there a Panel Beater AND/OR a spray painter on the
list!!!
I need to know some info, I alway leave the primer to
dry for a least 24 hours before I spray the top coat!
Do I have to wait this long?
A:
If the primer is acrylic, it depends on how many coats are applied and how thick they are. Generally there should be around three heavy coats.Using this example it should take around 12 hours, this usually means overnight. But upon saying this the temperature should be around 25 degrees or higher. The weather lately is quite cold overnight so this may make it take longer to dry. If the primer isa 2 component formula, it should take no longer than 12 hours at16-25 degrees, if so I would check your hardener, maybe the mixture isnot correct or the hardener has "gone off".
So there you go.
I think we answered this anyway, but he doesn't check his email often so the reply was a bit late.
Cheers
