The flame from rally car anti-lag comes from the fact that some of the teams inject fuel into the exhaust manifold and ignite it between gear shifts, this has the effect of producing power in front of the turbine thus creating boost.  The trouble is that its very harsh on turbos and reduces their lifetime dramatically.

Mark,

That sounds like a good idea, from the little I know of anti-lag systems they can sometimes cause a few flames out the exhaust as the extra air drawn in between gear changes alters mixtures fairly substantially, but definitely  look forward to hearing about any testing. Pity the article didn't say if this valve made any difference though it seems like a great idea.
