I raced out to the shed and picked up the 1979 service data and 
specifications book .(and the 75 one)

71C means
71 is distance lenght between mainshaft and countershaft.
C Nothing in my factory books(upto 1979)
Nissan used L,A,B.
Hence S130(240Z) FS5W71B    (long not dog leg)
       330 (260C) FS5W71B         "
       C110(240K) FS5W71B         "
       P610(180B) FS5C63A   (short dog leg)
       P710(160J) FS5W63A        "
Now the difference between the two shorts is the Synchro's ,the 710SSS 
are Warner and the 180BSSS Servo.

I think i might have a later book some where?
I have a gear box from a 280ZXT  that was L28T factory and with a 
63(short,dogleg) gearbox,I thought thats the box for the 1600,
Would you like one,as I have a pretty good source that does comeup with 
good bitts from time to time..
