Mark, If you're worried about Vic roads then beg/borrow (but don't steal) the rectangular type for your inspection but I don't think you'll have a problem as they are approved for street use. Something that I found out by an experience is that an air filter isn't required as such but on side draft carbie a flame arrestor is (go figure). Socks IMHO are the best for Webers with trumpets as I doubt the trumpets will fit inside of them with the lack of room in a 1600. The only thing that most RTA's want with socks is that the flame arrestors are fitted and I can't see why you wouldn't fit them but it's just been an experience of mine. I had a bit of an argument with one of those roadside inspections dudes one day as he wanted me to remove a sock to check that the arrestor was fitted. I told him that I didn't carry spare ties to re-fit it so just squeeze the sock - he shrugged and we parted company.

Are these any better or worse than unifilters? Also, would i have to take the trumpet things of the weber to fit one of these filters on? I think i heard someone saying at the ozdat cruise that vicroads don't look too kindly on sock type filters for webers....so would these other type of filter be any better as far as vicroads are concerned? (i have to take my car in early next week and i want to make a good impression :) ) Thanks for any help! Cheers, Mark. _____________________________________________________________ Get Your free Ozdat Email Account ---> http://www.ozdat.com _____________________________________________________________ Promote your group and strengthen ties to your members with [EMAIL PROTECTED] by Everyone.net http://www.everyone.net/?btn=tag --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
