James,

Re-torquing the head is a possibility but from my experience even if it
seems to help it's usually only a temporary solution. Unfortunately to do it
properly it's a teardown and replace gasket job and to do it really properly
you should get the head checked for warp tolerance, cracks etc.

regards
Terry

Thanks for the input Terry much appreciated. The owner has taken the car
back and is not happy about the gasket but had a feeling it was blown, i
might try and retorque the headbolts, would that help? doubt it but worth a
try. I said she should take it to the 1600 workshop and get them the check
its definitly it tho. Anyway thanks again Terry.

James
