what MIGHT be worth a try is to re check the head bolts. i have a z 18 head and 2mm copper head gasket on my l20 block and itstarted to leak oil and water from the gasket and down the block, i took itapart and found thet the head bolt threads started to lift above the surface of the block, so i driulled them out and helicoiled the complete block...
