hi, do ytou mean the bottom pan type gasket?
you can use a quality silicone sealant , but wait till its 100 % dry before
you put oil in box.
most of the time you can use a quality sealant, but be carefull,   SOME
gaskets are different thicknesses , and are made this way to provide
clearance for certain parts.....
