Adam, Do you mean the flexi hose? If so that's just to absorb movement in the engine/tranny. 3/4" is pretty much stock for the 1600 clutch master cylinder. The solid pipe goes from the cylinder to a fitting on the body that secures the flexi hose which connects to the slave. The clutch line is much same deal as the front brake lines, if you had the solid hose go all the way to the calliper then it wouldn't last very long. It's interesting that rear drums mostly have the solid line fitted directly onto the slave, even on an IRS the flexi lines are attached from the body to the trailing arm and then solid to the slaves.

What is the purpose of the large pipe in the clutch system? ie From master cylinder there is a small(5/16) bundy tube that goes down to a T piece which has a 5/16 connection and a larger(not sure of size) connection. At present I don't have the larger connection plugged in and the clutch doesn't seem to depress enough to get into gear. I'm wondering if I add the larger diameter bundy tubing will that make any difference? I have tried adjusting the plunger via the pedal and that didn't help. Or maybe i need another clutch master cylinder? I have a 3/4 at present which i'm sure other sr20det people have used. cheers, Adam --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
