hi everyone, i installed a 60A bosch alternator from a ca20 pintara. But when starting the car the charge light wouldnt turn off until the engine had been reved to 2000 rpm or so. Once it had been reved, the light would remain off at lower engine speeds.
I think Terry suggested this was the sign of a dying regulator, so I swapped it over. But the light still stayed on until I gave the engine a rev. So this morning I got a 55A bosch alternator and put that in - but still the same problem, except that the light goes out when revved but flickers back on when the engine returns to idle! Can anyone suggest what is wrong, as I dont want to wreck my battery if the alternator isnt charging properly?
