Matt,

Be careful because its not just for the centring of the wheel that
you require the TRX nuts which have a taper and also a cylindrical
section that fits into the wheel. With a (TRX :) wheel on your car,
take out one of the nuts you are using at the moment and see how
much thread the wheel is being held on by. On standard 1600 rear
drums its not much - only a couple of threads if using normal
tapered nuts (on a 240K front they're held on by not much more).

The cylindrical section of the TRX nut which fits into the wheel
effectively holds the wheel on by the length of that section more.

I had my wheels on another 1600 with normal tapered nuts for a
couple of years (was told that they were what I required, and had
been through RWC etc with no worries) - when I got my new RWC
last week the guys said it was amazing the wheels hadnt fallen off
at some stage. Makes you wonder about the standards of
checking safety items.
