Hi guys I pulled off the timing cover this
afternoon to find the source of the rattling noise my engine was making and I
found it alright; the tensioner had worn entirely on one side of the
rubber and eventually fell off the side of the chain! The tensioner spring was pretty messed up! Wasn't doing any
tensioning.
The only other thing I stuffed up was ripping the
head gasket when I was pulling the front cover off. Hopefully a bit of that
gasket in a tube crap can fix that.
Anyway I have ordered geniune chain and tensioner
from Nissan for a reasonable price so it will be back together
soon.
cheers,
zac
