Trust me, carbon fibre is flammable.  Use kevlar instead.  The race teams that use carbon fibre know the risk and have on board extinguishers, and plenty of replacements to bolt on. 
 
Ring FGI (Fibre Glass International) and talk to them about what you want, they may have a kevlar composite which is flame proof and light.  I used to work for one of their suppliers, NORPOL, as an industrial chemist between 1991 and 1993

What about the airboxes on super tourers and such, and the carbon ram tubes on some race cars? I would have thought that fibre glass would have burned before carbon.

      I was thinking of making a mould and then making it out of carbon fibre or fibreglass, that way I can make more than one, should the need arise.

      I was also thinking of making a version to cover a pair of twins too...

      what are u making the air box outa?
      i would be making it out of sheet metal,and solder,weld  it up etc...

                Anyone know if epoxy resin is resistant to fuel.
        I am thinking of making up an airbox for my SUs and was wondering if I have to get special resin?
