thanks for the help guys, just a few more questions though:

the cam from an L20 is supposedly better than the L18 item, this should fit to the L18 head with no worries?? The motor is going to be rebuilt, eg. new rings, bearings etc. so there should be no reliability probs, right??

and will the stock cooling system work ok??

Yes,but will the rings,if they are old it might not last long till shes a
smoker

Yes you will notice more power.

It will still clear if you use the old cam cover,or even beter get a 1967-69
510 one as they are lower again

Yeah the ozzie auto lasts about 12 months with a L20B in front(B&W)

dellortos are beter than SSS carbs.(webers are my choice)
