Stick an SR20 Turbo in it!
You'll hear that often, but the difference will be un-fkn-believable! DO IT.
You'll spend around $6,000 putting it in but you'll have a car that could
outrun $200,000 sports cars!

CA18det is 2nd choice but you'll spend 99% as much as you would putting a SR
in it.
L/Z hybrid is a bit of frigging around, if your gunna go turbo go for the
above coz you'll probably spend just as much or more putting together a
Z20et hybrid Z22 ported bored out stroker as you would if you just bought a
SR20det and fitting kit and stuffed it all in there!

Go the SR20.....

Subject: Rebuild...

Hi all,
I am trying to decide what to do with my 1600 at the moment, and i am
considering the l/z hybrid engine using the L20B bottom end (which i alrady
have) and the z18 crossflow turbo head.
What i am trying to work out is who i would go to and how much it is likely
to cost me to rebuild my L20B bottom end nice and strong so it can handle
the turbo??
Then the next hurdle would be finding a z18 head and manifolds, but i don't
want the stock turbo or the computer-hopefully i might be able to afford
aftermarket :) Can anyone recommend anywhere that i might find the z18 bits
i am after??
I am in Melbourne, so if anyone on the list can recommend who i could go to
for the rebuild and who will give me a good deal then let me know!
Any suggestions or info u think i might need is welcome (many of which i am
sure will consist of 'put an sr in' or put a 'ca' in, hehe)
Cheers,
Mark.
