Alex Mate 1600's have been rallied to death, they would have to be the most popular rally car in Australia and outer regions ever. This means that there is plenty of info about them available to you to get them safe and fast.
The better you can get it to handle, stop and accelerate the safer your first rally will be and more comfortable for you to perform. Learn as much as you can about how experienced campaigners prepared their cars and use that as a benchmark. Go to your rally club and talk to people about what they have tried and what worked. Email doesn't possess the 3D quality you need in learning to prepare the car properly.
