British RS2000 with the Cosworth BDA engines are tres quick for NA engines. There are a few of them here in the Canberra Scorts club and I can tell you they are a match for a FJ20 turbo if only in a straight line - there aren't too many 80's production 4 cylinders that pull 140 mph. One of the Canberra cars has a $40K driveline in it - big dollars, he told me the spare head was $15K alone which is in FIA Datto league if you could still buy one, you can buy 3 FJ's for that and have the same amount of fun. The thing is with Scorts is you just still buy the good bits off the shelf, last trip to Sydney I did, I picked up some you bute steering rack for a RS 2000 still in a box from England with the customs stamps on it - they're way ahead of us in that area.

regards
Terry

Brad are you talking Uk or aussie RS..??
Reason I ask is they are totally different cars the ozzie made one is just a escort sport with a cortina engine and a Masport gear box(Masport box's were made in NZ)
The real RS has alloy sump, etc, etc plus are worth a shit load.
Plus only ever came in 2 door were in ozzie you got 4 door ones as well.

Just like your escort van  2.0L  only place they made them was ozzie,,,in fact they even made a ????shit carnt think of the name off hand same as the holden sandman but a ford,,was it sunrunner?ford did it in escort and tranist
