Mark,   Believe me, they're out there in droves - simply amazing the sort of money some ppl throw at cars. My oldest son got driven to his formal in a late 60's E Type as in ex-racing type Jaguar (red in colour and some ACT ppl have probably seen it around) which has had $60K spent on it the last time it was restored to it's former glory, I'm not sure where the bulk of the money went but it's got a nice paint job. Simply a magnificent motor vehicle which I made sure was insured for the drive into town and return safely - I don't have $60K lying about if some dickhead runs into it and totals it enroute. The Scort boys just sniff or shrug when we mention Turbo in polite conversation when you're around them but the Sierra boys seem to be more interested. They're another mob that throw huge amounts of cash into their pride and joys - most of us get just as much enjoyment out of our Dattos at a fraction of the cost, but a lot of ppl just can't understand how that's possible. There are a few of them here in the Canberra Scorts club and I can tell you they are a match for a FJ20 turbo if only in a straight line - there aren't too many 80's production 4 cylinders that pull 140 mph. One of the Canberra cars has a $40K driveline in it - big dollars, he told me the spare head was $15K alone which is in FIA Datto league if you could still buy one, you can buy 3 FJ's for that and have the same amount of fun.
