hi, for the average to above average car painter,to paint cars you do not need a 3 phase compressor. my brother has been using a single phase 14 cfm compressor for the last 14 years or so, he`s painted panels, prime movers , cars etc..... unless your into painting cars ALL the time and doing industrial type work u really dont need one.(3 phase)
