Mark if going to the trouble of shortening a diff I would suggest getting a 
skyline-commoore diff done they only have to shorten one axle LSD's aren't too $$$ and 
very strong too. Chris shoesmith has just fitted one into his 1200 sedan with big hp 
CA18det. Another option is the
H190 diff out of the old 1500 utes I am in the process of modifying one to fit into my 
coupe teh track is spot on axles are bloody huge and an alloy 4.625:1 will help it get 
of the mark nice and quick. With the scorpion diff they are still pretty wide even 
with FWD offset rims
from memory the track is 90mm wider than stock.
