Richard,
I`m not sure i understand what you mean by
the "bolt". The nut i`m talking about secures the shock absorber into the
strut tube and stops it from moving up and down
. If you stuff the thread on the nut you will need to
replace the nut (check thread inside strut tube), if you have damaged the
strut tube thread you most likely will have to replace the strut assembly.
Has it always clunked since you put in the inserts? If so you,
either need to tighten up the nut or have to put in the correct spacers
inside the tube, under the shock insert.
