Last quote I had for a 910 pillarless SSS from Auckland to melbourne was $2400 NZ one way.
On top of that you have to get an import permit $50 under the 15 year rule from the Dept of Transport before starting to load the car in NZ. There are steam cleaning charges in NZ for all soil and bugs to be removed depending on where the car comes from for quarantine purposes. The Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS) has an inspection fee on arrival here of approximately $65 dpending on time taken to inspect. Plus there are local port charges for the shipping company. They then add the purchase price of the vehicle and add 15% import duty. When that amount is calculated they add on the GST. Fun huh!!!! A $150 NZ car ends up costing $150 purchase, Steam clean $150, $2400 freight, = $2700 NZ =$2454 OZ to get to Melbourne. Then + $65 AQIS, and local port charges Say $250 = $2769? Add 15% duty of $415 = 3184. Then the 10% GST of 318.40 is added =$3502 OZ.
