Stuey,

Carefully check that you have the polarity correct i.e. the positive and
negative battery leads on the correct terminals. Starter motors just don't
burn out even if there is a low battery problem. The battery could be
internally shorting under cranking load, again this doesn't usually fritz a
starter. I'd get someone else to have a look at it, you never know what they
might see that you are missing.

regards
Terry

Subject: Starter probs again

Hey guys, i am still having troubles with the starter motor in my 1600. I
went to the wreckers and found a Z24 starter and wacked it on tonight. but
am still having the same run down battery effect, but the bat is fine, i was
jumping it of my old ute, so i know its good. There was no change in the
way it was trying to kick it over between the L18 and the Z24. Could this be
an electrical problem, cause it did burn out the Z24 starter. sorry for the
length, but it is now really starting to bug me, cause i want to get this
car on the road ASAP. Any ideas would be great. Thanks guys/girls.....stuey
