Hehe...I discovered how scrub affects handling by using S12 hubs on 280ZX struts with Revolution rims. Fought the car all round the track for a day like it too :-)

Most struts I have come across have 80mm bolts centres. They come in two different base hole sizes for steering arm flanges of  39.5 mm and 53.5 mm
The 53.5 mm base struts have two or more different offsets. The stub axle is offset outwards to give negative offset steering geometry when used with the offset balll joint.
When used on conventional steering arms with a spacer, they greatly increase scrub radius. This can cause some handling problems.
