Hi Rob, VET checks various files on boot up but I noticed that it would occasionally warn me of a virus it found whilst I was working on my computer, not necessarily using email and not straight after down loading mail. This made me wonder how VET monitors the system and I decided to check my mail folder to see if there were any infected files and I discovered a couple. I just double clicked on the VET icon sitting in the bottom menu bar. This brought up a window showing all the folders on my C drive. I use Pegasus for my email and my email files are dropped into a folder called PMAIL. I highlighted this folder and went to the VET menu at the top of the screen and clicked on the green GO button and all the files in that folder are scanned. So when I see someone on the list warning of infected emails, I down load my emails, close Pegasus and scan my mail folder! This is what I did the other night and discovered that each time I down loaded any email I was finding 2 or more infected emails. Hope that is the info you were after.
