Dave,
With stock valve springs you can do it on the car by putting the piston on top dead both valves closed and putting a spark plug adapter on to pressurise the cylinder. Place the bent end of a caster rod facing down under the cams shaft section between lobes. Pushing down with the bent section pressing on the spring retainer will loosen the collets allowing removal with the valve staying up. Remove old stem seal with multigrips or levering with screw driver until it comes of the valve stem. Check for mushrooming (burring) of valve stem before fitting new seals or they may be cut.

Fit the new seal over the stem and tap lightly down using a suitable tube or long series socket until the clip ring seats in the groove around the seal surface. Replace springs and retainer, lever down to replace collets. Simple huh!!!!

Hardest part is getting a compressed air spark plug leak down adapter.

Cheers,
Feral Errol
