Have you fitted the r31 struts to your car?
 
not yet, waiting on the donor car
I think you need a bracket to fit trhe z32/z33 calipers to these struts?
 
i have a design from an old brake combo i once did takes the 88mm (ish?) spacing out to 100mm
 
what did you do to get the struts to fit in the car? which springs etc etc
 
i found a local suspension shop i use through work who will chop the old spring base off, sleeve the strut, machine a thread and fit coilovers with small diameter springs, etc.  the strut hat on a r31 have the same 3 stud pattern as the 1600 which the coil over hats will also suit
that way plenty of inside clearance and height adjustable, will use KYB or Koni inserts

with the r31 struts, gotta have a closer look at them, guy at work has one so will look
I dont think that they will work with out some work, coil overs will solve the spring problem, but IMHO nothing that a set of 240K struts wouldnt do.
 
r31 is 75mm shorter strut than standard 1600, lower front end, no riding bumpstops, unlike my old maroon 1600 years ago (may have had something to do with angle grinder slipping out of the shed an onto the springs)
brakes are same size as 240k too, the 240z had the 274mm discs but i still have my 3000GT/R33 setup in the shed.....hmmmmm
 
and you don't know what i'm on about yet either, sounds like you're assuming a few things.
Im not assuming anything there ryan, dont know where you got that idea from??
 
my paint job will end up being very different.... i'll have to send you a pic of what i have in store.

this time, i'm doing it properly, taking time, keeping the zx9r for daily transport.
