Possible suggestions:
1. Ryco 442 is a larger than stock filter that
happens to fit in place of the stock. We should adjust the oil quantity upwards
a bit.
2. Filter may be 400cc or whatever but when you let
the engine sit before an oil change, only ~ 100cc remain inside the filter. The
rest flows out of it.
3. [1] and [2] above together.
4. Note last message about RWD SR20DEs. Either they
have filters of a larger capacity than FWD SR20DEs or its position is slightly
different and more of the oil remains in the filter.
