i know of 2 WRX's that both had 2 failures each. Heath ----- Original Message ----- From: David Andrews <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, August 01, 2003 12:42 PM Subject: Re: BOV Sounds
Apparently, according to Mario (GTR-700), IHI turbo's have particularly weak shafts. So I'd say that the compression wave, which is caused by the throttle closing suddenly, travelling back through the intake crashing into the compressor is in direct competition with the inertia of the compressor wheel, the shaft, and the turbine wheel and whatever residual exhaust gases are still trying to spin the turbine. Maybe the mentioned WRX (with weaker shafted IHI turbo) highlights this.
