Hmm

I looked up the Rare Spares site and they advertise them for under $40,
however Mal says they dont fit too well. If you blow up the picture they do
look a little rough in the photo near the rolled edge. Check them out by
taking in the rusty guard, even on the car, and laying the repair section
over it.

I bought some of Rare Spares 200B front guard rust repair sections 15 years
ago, and they were quite good but the rolled edge inside the wheel arch was
a fraction narrow. May be the 1600 ones are poorer quality.

Like you, I thought the $150 for the lower rear sections from Nissco were
pretty steep, but what other choices do you have at a lower cost? The
finished repair is as good as a new one for about half the cost - if you
could buy a replacement. Remember you are driving an appreciating asset,
if you keep the body in good nick. Its worth spending a bit more as it
value goes up. Check out the Trading Post this week, good 1600's are now
into the "$5000 - $10,000 section" as well as a few over $6000 in the "Hot
and Customised cars" section.
