Yeah good, when Errol's mate stripped it down, he said it had either looked like it had been on a really big capacity engine OR the mixtures were really lean. I can vouch for both as its only a 1.8L engine and the on boost mixtures are between 12 and 12.8:1 . Anyway I paid cost price for the parts he put it back together for me for free since the it was hard to point the finger at any one party for its demise.
The other interesting thing was that the shaft was a little blued on the bearing surface. For something that was only 3000km old (I'd changed the oil twice since I put it on the first time) it was a little strange. So I turfed the standard oil feed set up and went and spent 120 bucks on - 4 teflon braided hose and the associated fittings. This should cure any potential feed problems.
Anyway should be all good now, fingers crossed.
